Wesley Allen Carmack, 66, of Brownwood, Texas, went home to be with his Lord on September 12, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Wesley was born on November 8, 1958, in Hobbs, New Mexico. He graduated from Bangs High School and later married the love of his life, Donna, on December 17, 1983. Together they built a home filled with love, raising three children.
Wesley began his career as an oilfield worker in Midland before moving his family to Brownwood to be closer to loved ones. He went on to work for Vulcan Materials, where he dedicated 21 years of service before retiring on November 8, 2024.
In his free time, Wesley enjoyed simple joys—picnicking with his wife, fishing and camping with family, watching Westerns, cheering on his Texas Longhorns, and tending to his chickens.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Carmack of Brownwood; daughter, Rachel Gall of Oklahoma; sons Wesley Jr. and wife Sammi of Brownwood, and Justin Scantling of Brownwood; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Johnny Slaughter of Florida, Charles Carmack of San Angelo, and Craig Slaughter of Midlothian, TX; sisters Sherry Carmack and Cheryl Carmack, both of Brownwood; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Wesley was preceded in death by his father, Jack Carmack; his mother, Sheirly Slaughter; and his stepfather, James Slaughter.
Wesley will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a hardworking man who found joy in family and faith.
