
ABILENE – The Brownwood Lady Lions dropped a four-set, non-district road volleyball match to Class 5A Abilene High Friday, 25-21, 25-19, 22-25, 25-20.
Brownwood (13-11) was sparked offensively by 17 kills from Aniah Hines, eight each from Hannah Deen and Demayha Hooker, five from Kaydence Chandler, four from Jentry Coalson, three from Icess Hall, and one kill each from Bellah Stokes, Lanie Johnson, and Sara Stubblefield.
Hall logged 36 assists while Maddi Scott served a pair of aces and Hines and Hall contributed one each.
Defensively, Johnson notched 10 digs followed by Hines and Stubblefield with eight each, Scott with seven, Grace Sparks with five, Deen and Hall with four apiece, Coalson with three, and Chandler and Hooker both with two.
At the net, Hooker’s three blocks were a team-best followed by two from Hines and one by Chandler.
The Lady Lions are off until next Friday when they visit Abilene Cooper.
