
September sales tax allocations in Brownwood and Early were higher than September 2024, and lower in Bangs, according to information released this week by the Texas Comptroller’s Office. Sales tax allocations received in September reflect taxable retail sales in July 2025. Details below.
BROWNWOOD
The City of Brownwood received $618,646, an increase of 4.06% over September 2024. For the 2024/2025 fiscal year, which is now complete, Brownwood received $7,535,686, an increase of 5.56% over the 2023/2024 fiscal year. The total for the fiscal year is also 5.97% greater than the sales tax budgeted amount of $7,111,191.
The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $202,895, an increase of 2.96% over September 2024. For the 2024/2025 fiscal year, the Brownwood MDD received $2,438,094, up 4.66% over the 2023/2024 fiscal year.
EARLY
The City of Early received $208,290, an increase of 11.50% over September 2024. For the 2024/2025 fiscal year, Early received $2,338,356, down 1.37% compared to the 2023/2024 fiscal year. The total for the fiscal year is 38.77% greater than the sales tax budgeted amount of $1,685,000.
The Early Municipal Development District received $69,016, an increase of 12.04% over September 2024. For the 2024/2025 fiscal year, the Early MDD received $766,876, down 0.80% compared to the 2023/2024 fiscal year.
BANGS
The City of Bangs received $21,396, a decrease of 7.26% compared to September 2024. For the 2024/2025 fiscal year, Bangs received $282,458, an increase of 8.16% over the 2023/2024 fiscal year. The total for the fiscal year is 53.51% greater than the sales tax budgeted amount of $184,000.
The Bangs Municipal Development District received $3,274, a decrease of 2.85% compared to September 2024. For the 2024/2025 fiscal year, the Bangs MDD received $40,404, up 8.09% over the 2023/2024 fiscal year.
