
GLEN ROSE – The Brownwood Lady Lions and Lions cross country squads both finished fourth in the final team standings at the Glen Rose Invitational Wednesday.
The Lady Lions recorded 85 points, which trailed Stephenville (43), Gatesville (54) and Glen Rose (67), while the Lions amassed 103 points, which left them behind Stephenville (51), Godley (73) and Glen Rose (77).
Bennett Windham sparked the Brownwood boys with a second-place performance of 18:08.78 trailed by Juston Burt (20th, 20:14.28), Hayden Mair (23rd, 20:17.59), Reagan Munsugu (27th, 20:25.53), Carter Massey (37th, 20:45.66), Adrian Skrhak (53rd, 22:20.29), and Brayden Musick (62nd, 22:33.51).
Rebekah Delgado paced the Brownwood girls with a third-place effort of 13:56.08 followed by ninth-place Haylee Adkins (14:20.13), 18th place Joclyn Salazar (15:08.79), 24th place Ailean Palacios (15:24.02), and 32nd place Khloe Galvan (15:58.69).
In the JV competition, the Lions finished tied for second place with 63 points while the Lady Lions came in fourth with 115 points.
Competing for the JV Lions were Valente Cardenas (1st, 21:22.11), Brayden Munsell (4th, 22:05.31), Gio Diaz (6th, 22:12.6), Jonathan Skrhak (15th 23:17.46), and Kip Havens (53rd, 27:26.1).
Running for the JV Lady Lions were Destiny Sharp (2nd, 16:02.5), Riley Abernathy (24th, 17:30.42), Destiny Long (31st, 17:53.49), Montanna Ramsey (32nd, 17:54.19), Natalie Dillard (48th, 19:49.9), and Brooklyn Bouldin (56th, 21:36.56).
The Lions and Lady Lions will be back in action Friday, Sept. 19 in Round Rock for the state preview meet.
