
The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of September 10:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
- GOOD. Water clear; 84-85 degrees; 1.19 feet below pool. Black bass are good to 5.09 pounds in the grass on topwater frogs and in 8-15 feet of water on shaky heads with green pumpkin F5 worms, dropshots with 6-inch worms in Morning Glory, whopper ploppers and square bill crankbaits. Crappie are fair to 13 inches on minnows and jigs in 10-20 feet on deeper large docks with brush on the main lake and on scattered brush piles. White bass are fair to 1.25 pounds on crappie jigs and minnows out of the lights at night with some schooling action early and late. Catfish are good 3-5 pounds on jug lines with cut shad on the main lake flats and minnows around the docks.
LAKE CISCO
- GOOD. Water normal stain; 87 degrees; 14.95 feet above pool. Fishing has been pretty good, with the bite steady, especially in the mornings when conditions are favorable. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals
LAKE COLEMAN
- SLOW. Water stained; 82-86 degrees; 1.86 feet below pool. There are some black bass being caught, but really hard to find. Crappie are excellent to 14 inches on minnows in 8-15 feet under docks in Rattlesnake Cove on the right side going in. Hybrid bass are slow to 6 pounds on squarebill crankbaits in the lighted docks. Catfish are good on prepared bait, nightcrawlers and chicken livers, but really slow.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
- FAIR. Water stained; 86-87 degrees; 17.47 feet below pool. Black bass are good to 9 pounds with an 11-pounder reported this week. Topwater frogs are good in the brush early and midday in 3-5 feet. 10-inch ribbon tail worms in plum or red bug are doing well from 8-18 feet of water on points and inside channel swings with hardwood cover. Midlake seems best around Turkey Bend, North Island and South Island. Crappie are good with limits reported around hardwood trees 15-25 feet suspended. Minnows work best but using jigs with shad imitation first then dropping the minnows behind them after they quit hitting the jig. No reports of white bass. Catfish are still good at boat ramps in 5-12 feet of water on a variety of stink baits, cheese baits and cut shad. Report by Wendell Ramsey, Ramsey Fishing.
LAKE PROCTOR
- FAIR. Water stained; 87 degrees; 1.20 feet below pool. Catfish are good on cut bait and live bait with reports of good catches of channels. Brush piles are holding fish with some good takedowns reported. Striper fishing has been reported by local anglers. Reports of white bass caught trolling in shallow water. Crappie are transitioning to brush piles.
