EARLY – The City of Early recently announced that Amy Constancia has successfully earned her Destination Management Specialist (DMS) Certificate, which she has been working on for the last three years. Constancia was part of the first group of professionals to receive this certification previous week at the Destinations Texas Annual Conference held in Fort Worth, Texas. This significant achievement highlights Constancia’s commitment to excellence in the destination marketing organization (DMO) and convention and visitors’ bureau (CVB) industry.
The Destination Management Specialist educational certification plays a vital role in Destinations Texas’s educational framework, providing industry professionals with hands-on, actionable education. The program fosters the development of future leaders in the tourism sector.
To obtain the DMS certification, participants must complete the 3:2:1 Model, which includes:
- Three Core Tracks at the Winter Conference’s Master Class format, covering Leadership, Marketing, Sales, and Advocacy/Communications.
- Two Elective Courses to broaden their knowledge and skills.
- One Destination Experience Tour, providing real-world insights into destination management.
- One Destination Marketing Principles Session to solidify their understanding of essential marketing strategies.
“We are extremely proud of Amy for her dedication and hard work in achieving this certification,” said Denise Hudson, Convention & Visitors Bureau Director. “Her passion for the tourism industry and commitment to our community are commendable. We look forward to seeing the positive impact she will make with her new skills and knowledge.”
Constancia’s accomplishment not only enhances her professional development but also contributes to the overall growth and success of the DMO/CVB industry in the region.
“The City of Early takes pride in having the best and brightest employees,” said Early City Administrator Tony Aaron. “Amy is one of those superstars. She is dedicated to her profession and to the citizens of Early and all of Brown County. She strives for excellence but has a humble spirit about her.
