Brownwood ISD issued the following press release Monday morning regarding the Spotlight Employees for the month of September:

This month’s spotlight teacher is Timothy Thomas. Mr. Thomas is a Science Teacher at Brownwood Middle School. He holds a Bachelor of Science in History from Howard Payne University and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of Texas at Tyler. Mr. Thomas holds several Texas teaching certifications, including Physical Science (8-12), Secondary Life-Earth Science (6-12), Secondary History (6-12), and more along with a Principal (EC-12) certification. This is his 22nd year with Brownwood ISD (BISD).

Mr. Thomas is a dedicated educator. He is a fantastic teacher and he is willing to step in and volunteer anywhere on campus. Mr. Thomas does an amazing job connecting with students to build positive relationships, and on campus he creates a school culture that positively impacts student growth and learning. Brownwood Middle School is truly lucky to have him.

BISD is fortunate to have skilled teachers like Mr. Thomas. His continued commitment to providing quality education and fostering a positive environment makes a significant difference in the lives of his students and colleagues.

Our staff spotlight honoree for the month is Peter Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez is a dedicated member of the BISD Maintenance & Grounds crew. He joined the BISD team in May 2025, bringing his skills and an incredible work ethic from a 35-year career at Kohler.

Peter has a great attitude and is always willing to help. He worked extremely hard during our Maintenance Blitz and was quick to volunteer when we needed some extra help directing traffic at East Elementary. As a member of the grounds crew, he worked tirelessly over the summer to keep the campuses looking good despite the continual rain. He is often the first to be pulled to move boxes or equipment and not only does he perform the additional work well, but he does so without complaint or argument.

BISD is grateful to have hardworking and reliable staff like Mr. Sanchez, whose dedication and commitment are invaluable to his department and our district.
