CASA in the Heart of Texas is thrilled to announce the appointment of Abram Choate as its new Executive Director. With an extensive background in leadership, community relations, marketing, and administration, Abram brings a wealth of experience and passion to his role overseeing the organization’s mission to advocate for children in foster care across Brown, Comanche, and Mills counties.
Abram joins CASA with a professional history that includes roles as an administrator and educator. Most recently, Abram served in college athletics as an administrator, where he demonstrated exceptional skills in team leadership, program management, and external operations. His tenure in higher education administration equipped him with the ability to motivate teams, foster strong relationships, and achieve organizational goals — qualities that are pivotal in his new role at CASA.
“I am very excited about serving at CASA in the Heart of Texas,” said Abram Choate, new executive director. “After spending the last 26 years working in the heart of Texas, it is wonderful to continue serving this region serving through a mission focused on advocating for foster children in Brown, Comanche, and Mills counties.”
As executive director, Abram will oversee all operational aspects of the organization, including staff and volunteer management, fundraising initiatives, budget management, and community outreach efforts. His appointment underscores CASA’s ongoing commitment to recruiting top-tier talent dedicated to advocating for the best interests of children who are navigating the foster care system.
“We are delighted to have Abram join us as our Executive Director. He is a superb addition to our dedicated team of CASA Volunteers, Staff, and Board Members,” said Brian Imiola, President of the CASA Board of Directors.  “We are confident that his leadership, skill set, and passion for serving children will be instrumental in helping us grow and thrive as an organization as we strive to meet the urgent needs of children in foster care and to promote their best interests.”
Abram brings extensive experience in operations, marketing, and communications to his new role which will help raise awareness about the needs of foster children in the region.
Abram and his wife, Torri, have been a part of the Brownwood area for over 30 years and have three children. Both have been actively involved with community groups in the area including participating youth sports with their children, the Brownwood Lyric Theater, Howard Payne University, and the Heartland Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
As the primary ambassador for CASA in the Heart of Texas within Brown, Comanche, and Mills counties, Abram will play a crucial role in advancing the organization’s visibility and impact. His strategic vision and dedication to child advocacy will further strengthen CASA’s position as a leader in supporting the well-being of children in foster care.
