Bangs volleyball chalks up road victory over Zephyr

Adalynne Stephens (2) recorded 24 digs for Bangs (5-17), which next heads to Rochelle, while Zephyr (6-6) visits Bluff Dale Tuesday

ZEPHYR – The Bangs Lady Dragons earned a second consecutive victory, and halted the Zephyr Lady Bulldogs’ win streak in a 25-21, 25-22, 25-27, 25-12 decision Saturday.

Bangs received 14 kills from Ashlynn Sliger along with nine from Cameryn Harmon, six from Kynlee White, two from Karylee Sliger, and one apiece from Adalynne Stephens, Aubrey Martin, Jasmine Lewis and Stormy Stringer.

Cricket Caulkins distributed 21 assists while 16 came from Justice Baker.

Ashlynn Sliger recorded nine aces followed by seven from Kylee Byler, three from Cloey Petty, two each from Baker, Harmon and Stephens, and one from Caulkins.

Defensively, Stephens finished with 24 digs followed by Harmon with 15, Baker with eight, Byler with seven, Petty with six, Caulkins and Ashlynn Sliger with four apiece, Lewis with three, and Martin and White with one apiece.

White also registered the only block for the Lady Dragons.

Zephyr (6-6) is back in action at Bluff Dale Tuesday, while Bangs (5-17) heads to Rochelle.
