Aniah Hines (12) finished with a team-high 18 kills and six aces, to go along with seven digs and four blocks for Brownwood (12-9), which plays its first match at Warren Gym this season at 4:30 p.m. Friday against Wall

SWEETWATER – The Brownwood Lady Lions dropped the first two sets, rallied to win the next two to force a tiebreaker, but the Sweetwater Lady Mustangs emerged with a 25-23, 27-25, 16-25, 10-25, 15-11 five-set victory Tuesday.

Aniah Hines recorded a season-high 18 kills to pace the Brownwood offense trailed by Hannah Deen with six, Icess Hall, Jentry Coalson and Demayha Hooker with four apiece, Kaydence Chandler with two, and Lanie Johnson with one.

Hall dished out 31 assists while Coalson, Hooker, and Chandler each contributed one.

Hines also served six aces along with five from Maddi Scott, four from Johnson and one by Sara Stubblefield.

Defensively, Johnson logged a team-best 17 digs followed by 14 from Hall, 11 from Scott, nine from Deen, seven from Hines, four from Chandler, and three apiece from Coalson, Stubblefield, Hooker, and Grace Sparks.

At the net, Hooker registered six blocks trailed by Hines with four, and Hall and Chandler with one apiece.

The Lady Lions (12-9) will play their first match at Warren Gym at 4:30 p.m. Friday against Wall in a rematch of an Abilene Bev Ball Classic contest in which Brownwood came up on the short end.
