Bangs volleyball denied victory at Bronte tournament

Ashlynn Sliger (12) and the Lady Dragons (3-17) next host Richland Springs at 6 p.m. Tuesday

BRONTE – The Bangs Lady Dragons experienced a rough weekend at the Bronte volleyball tournament, dropping all six of their matches.

First, Bangs fell to Miles, Coahoma and Veribest Friday, then Saturday the Lady Dragons were defeated by the Ballinger JV, Van Horn and Cornerstone Christian.

In Friday’s three matches, Ashlynn Sliger totaled 14 kills followed by 10 from Cameryn Harmon, three from Kynlee White, two from Karylee Sliger, and one each from Stormy Stringer, Aubrey Martin, Cricket Caulkins and Justice Baker.

Baker led the team with 15 assists along with six from Caulkins, and one each from Martin and Harmon.

Behind the service line, Stringer and Caulkins both logged two aces and Harmon, Baker and Adalynne Stephens chipped in one each.

Defensively, Stephens’ 19 digs were a team-high followed by 11 each from Baker and Stringer, eight from Harmon, five from Lily Boren, four from Caulkins and three from Ashlynn Sliger.

At the net, Ashlynn Sliger collected five blocks, Harmon notched two and White and Martin finished with one each.

Statistical information was not available for Saturday’s contests.

The Lady Dragons (3-17) will be back in action at 6 p.m. Tuesday as they host Richland Springs.
