Wilson DeWayne (W.D.) Carroll, age 83, of San Saba, TX, passed away on August 25, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

W.D. was born to Leron and Dorrace Carroll on March 5, 1943, in Houston, TX. He later moved with his family to San Saba, where they owned and operated San Saba Produce for many years before retiring in 2019.

Fishing was his greatest passion, especially the annual “river” trips every 4th of July weekend that he enjoyed for many years. W.D. was also active in the community, contributing his time to EMS, the Chamber of Commerce, stock shows, rodeos, Young Farmers, and much more.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene of San Saba; two children, Robert Carroll of San Saba and Deb Carroll; and two sisters, Elaine Leavins of Baytown and Sandra Martinez of Brownwood. W.D. is also survived by three grandchildren, Harley Bench of San Saba, Jason Bench of Cherokee, and Kristina Lively of San Saba; as well as great-grandchildren Jayliegh Carroll and Reese Miller, both of San Saba, and Noah Bench, Robert Bench, and Colton Bench of San Saba and Cherokee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leron and Dorrace Carroll, and his sister, Sally Kay Carlton.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel in San Saba. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the Blaylock Chapel in San Saba.
