Shirley Jean Hargrave, age 74, of Brady, Texas, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, in Brady. Shirley was born on October 24, 1950, in Brady, Texas, to Troy Dale Hargrave and Anna Mae (West) Hargrave. Shirley grew up in Austin. She loved to read and listen to music. Her favorite group growing up was the Beatles. She worked for the State of Texas Rehab Commission for many years. She volunteered at the nursery at St. Luke’s Methodist Church for many years. Her co-workers remarked that she always had a cheerful outlook and a positive attitude. She lived in Austin until she retired and moved back to Brady in 1990. Shirley led a simple life. She was an incredibly happy person. She enjoyed watching wrestling on TV and playing BINGO at the VFW. She was enormously proud of her Swedish heritage. She was a member of the Brady Methodist Church.

Shirley Hargrave is survived by three cousins, Carol Anderson and husband Barry of Brady, Texas, David West and wife Pam of Wall, Texas and Shery Buren and husband Thomas of San Angleo, Texas; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.
