Danny Oscar Barnett, born on January 29, 1951, in Coleman, Texas, left this world peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, on August 25, 2025. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, known for his bright and outgoing personality.

Danny dedicated his entire career to the oil field, beginning as a roughneck and diligently working his way up the ladder over an impressive 51 years. He concluded his career as a contract pumper for Hexagon Oil and Gas in Erath County. His passion for his job and the camaraderie he shared with his colleagues were evident, as he cherished every moment spent in the field.

A proud graduate of Coleman High School, Danny remained deeply rooted in his community. He married Treva Ann Sartain on December 28, 1973, in Coleman, and together they were active members of the North Coleman Baptist Church.

Danny’s life was filled with love for his family and joy in the simple pleasures. He enjoyed spending time in his yard, deep-sea fishing, and visiting Las Vegas, where he would often tackle the slot machines and poker tables.

Danny is survived by three sons: Michael Lee Barnett of Abilene, Danny G. Barnett and wife Brandi of Midland, and Caleb Barnett and wife Becky of Tuscola; and one daughter, Selina Cook Fulton. His grandchildren were a source of immense pride and joy, including Grayson Lee Barnett, Gabriel Dano Barnett, Daniel Seth Barnett and wife Harley Ann, William Hayes Barnett, Matthew Hayden Barnett, Nicholas Caleb Barnett, Kaydee Beth Barnett, Marc Sanchez, Meagan Salazar, and Kealie Befort.

He is also survived by his beloved siblings: Sharon Barnett Laws, Kay Barnett Faries, Joy Barnett De La Rosa and husband Tony, Dennis Barnett and wife Analisa, Douglas Barnett, and David Barnett and wife Tracy.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents, William Oscar “Dub” Barnett and Wanda Faye Dixon Barnett; his wife, Treva Ann Sartain Barnett; two grandchildren, Jaylin Danae Barnett and Jordan Barnett; and one sister, Caroline Jackson.

The family will host a visitation from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service celebrating his life at 11:00 am Friday, August 29, 2025, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Danny’s legacy of hard work, love for family, and vibrant spirit will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.

The family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in memory of Danny be made to the Epilepsy Foundation at www.epilepsy.com.

We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Barnett family by signing the guestbook on Danny’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Barnett family.
