
The Bangs Lady Dragons split their final two matches in Silver Bracket action at the Heart of Texas volleyball tournament Saturday.
Competing in the silver bracket at Brownwood High School, the Lady Dragons started the day with a victory over the Brownwood JV before falling to the Abilene Cooper JV in the consolation championship match.
In the win over the Brownwood JV that kicked off Saturday action, Bangs received five kills apiece from Ashlynn Sliger and Jasmine Lewis, and one apiece from Justice Baker, Stormy Stringer and Cricket Caulkins.
Baker dished out all eight Bangs assists, while Sliger and Adalynne Stephens served three aces apiece, and Stringer, Kylee Byler and Cameryn Harmon each contributed one.
On the defensive end, Baker logged eight digs trailed by four from Byler, three each from Stringer and Cloey Petty, and one apiece by Harmon and Lewis.
The weekend finale against the Cooper JV saw Bangs as the recipient of six more kills from Sliger and four from Harmon.
Stephens served three aces and Sliger contributed one.
On the flip side, the defense was led by Petty’s five digs, two from Byler and one from Caulkins.
Karlyee Sliger registered the lone block of the day for the Lady Dragons against the Cooper JV.
Bangs (3-10) is back in action at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday as it travels to Comanche, a team the Lady Dragons faced Thursday in pool play at the Heart of Texas tournament.
