Neighborhoods throughout Brownwood are invited to join over 38 million neighbors across 17 thousand communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, and military bases worldwide in celebrating National Night Out on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work.
Neighbors across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on their porch lights, and spend the evening outdoors with their community and local law enforcement.
In Brownwood, residents are invited to gather at block parties or gatherings throughout the city, where families can enjoy food, games, and fellowship. Events will also include visits from first responders and councilmembers, youth activities, and opportunities to connect with local officers in a casual, family-friendly setting.
Block parties will also feature a canned tuna drive to benefit Good Samaritan Ministries. Attendees are encouraged to bring canned tuna donations, which will help provide vital support for local families in need.
Brownwood Interim Police Chief James Fuller shared, “National Night Out is an opportunity for our officers and community members to come together outside of emergency situations and build lasting relationships. We want every resident to feel safe, supported, and connected to their neighbors.”
