Brown County Sheriff’s Report: Aug. 22

The following information was provided by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office:

  • On August 19, 2025, at approximately 1845 hours, I, Deputy Alexandria Sanchez, was dispatched to a livestock call at Country Road 190. Sanchez spoke with Vernon Slate (Witness), who stated his neighbor’s, MARGERT STOCKMAN (SUSPECT), cows were on his property again. Cowboys were contacted. Information was taken and report was made.
  • On Wednesday, 08/20/2025, at about 2034 hours, Deputy Chris Williamson was dispatched to a weapons offense located at Oak Bluff Circle, May, TX. Barton Allen Nixon stated a Chevrolet pickup truck pulled onto his property and fired two shots from inside the vehicle. Information was collected and a report was made.
  • On August 20, 2025, I, Deputy Saydie Bradley, estrayed 21 head of cattle from CR 190. 20 head were taken to CR 235 and 1 Charolais Bull was taken to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. A report was made.
  • On Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 06:51 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff TJ Harrell was dispatched to Young Street, Bangs, Texas 76823 regarding a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Deputy Harrell spoke with witnesses, and it was determined JUSTIN LEE FIELD assaulted a male at the residence. FIELD was placed into custody and transported to the Brown County Jail.
  • On 08/21/2025, at 0647 hours, Deputy Michel Wilson was dispatched to a Civil Matter, which turned into a Theft at Ennis Dr. Eric Reeves placed a $5000 deposit down to buy the property from Ramon Becerra. Ramon backed out of the deal, not wanting to return the $5000 back to Eric. Information was obtained and a report has been made.
  • On Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 15:01 hours, I, Brown County Deputy Sheriff TJ Harrell, was dispatched to the Brown County Law Enforcement Center regarding a possible burglary, which occurred at County Road 444, Brown County, Texas 76857. The victim stated their Winchester .22 bolt-action long rifle had been stolen from their residence. Information was gathered and a report was generated.
  • On August 21, 2025, at approximately 18:10, Deputy Dean Anderson and Sgt Jayson Bastardo were dispatched to Farm to Market 586, Bangs, TX 76823 for a call for service concerning a weapons offense. I spoke with Fidel Castaneda on a cellphone at the residence, due to his wife, Maria Delgado Alvarado, not speaking English very well. Castaneda said his wife heard someone shooting a gun to the left of the residence and one (1) of the rounds entered the house on the left side of the residence. Delgado Alvarado showed Deputy Anderson the entry point of the round in the bathroom. The single round came through the roof into the bathroom, going through the trim of a cabinet attached to the exterior wall, and ended up in the bathtub. Information was gathered and report submitted.
  • On 08/22/2025, Deputy John Geis was dispatched to the Brown County Jail to assist with a combative inmate. Deputy Geis arrived and was advised FLORES, JUAN had threatened three Jailers. Information was gathered and a report was made.
