
TUSCOLA – The Zephyr Bulldogs opened their cross country campaign Saturday with a fifth-place team finish at the Jim Ned Warpath Individual.
Zephyr, with 189 points, trailed only San Angelo Central (31), Midland Christian (59), Jim Ned (121) and Abilene Wylie (141).
Competing for the Bulldogs were Aaron Fagan (6th, 16:15.06), Spencer Marwitz (17th, 17:49.52), Ethan Prochaska (50th, 19:20.05), Reese Hamm (53rd, 19:24.68), Slade Butler (65th, 19:49.78), CJ Byers (69th, 19:59.96), Cooper Walls (84th, 20:44.78), and Riley McCuller (109th, 22:43.99).
Only one Lady Bulldog was in action Saturday, Rebecca Evetts (101st, 17:59.75), as several Zephyr girls were competing in volleyball.
Zephyr cross country runs again Wednesday at Eldorado.
