Brown County Sheriff’s Office Report: Aug. 15

The following information was provided by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office:

  • On 08/13/2025, at approximately 0843 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff received a walk-in complaint regarding fraud. The victim stated that their spouse’s email was hacked and was used to access credit card information. The card information had been used to purchase Schlitterbahn tickets, which were accessed from the spouse’s email. Neither party claimed to have ordered the tickets or received any benefit from the purchase. A report was taken for further investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
  • On 08/13/2025, at approximately 0954 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Madeline Reigle was notified by dispatch of a phone call regarding Theft. The caller stated that on 08/12/2025, they received notification with a photograph their packages had been delivered to their gate at approximately 1445 hours. However, when the caller walked outside to retrieve the items at 1505 hours, the packages were no longer there as depicted. The combined value of all the packages was approximately $245. A report was made for further investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
  • On 08/13/25, at approximately 2329 hours, Deputy Ethan Fox observed an abandoned vehicle on the shoulder of CR 136, Brownwood, Tx 76801. Deputy Fox observed a red tag on the vehicle, which expired at 1830 hours 08/13/25. Deputy Fox performed an inventory on the vehicle, and it was towed.
  • On August 13, 2025, at approximately 1649 hours, Deputy Alexandria Sanchez was dispatched to Country Road 487 in reference to a burglary. Deputy Sanchez spoke with Julia Bailey Lindley (Victim), who stated her barn had been broken into. Lindley stated she was missing an overhead fridge and bun warmer. Information was taken and report was made.
  • On August 11, 2025, at approximately 15:54 hours, Deputy Dean Anderson was advised of a call for an animal complaint concerning dead cows at County Road 411 E, May, TX 76857. I spoke with Justin Posey to gather information pertaining to the dead cows. Posey said 25 to 30 cows are dead or missing at this time. Information was gathered and a report submitted.
