Jerry Dean Eden Sr., a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at the age of 79, surrounded by those who loved him most.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood. Interment is private. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Born on September 26, 1945, Jerry was the son of the late Ray Alfred Eden and Alta Virginia Eden. He lived a life defined by love, integrity, and steady devotion to his family and friends.
In 1972, Jerry began his career as a lineman with GTE, where his dedication and strong work ethic carried him through a 31-year career. He retired in 2003 as a construction manager with Verizon, respected by all who worked with him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marisa Eden, the love of his life for 29 wonderful years. Their marriage was a true example of enduring love and deep friendship.
He leaves behind four children who will carry on his legacy: his special daughter and devoted caregiver Ashley Duncan, daughter Kim (Dave) Cummings, son Jerry Eden Jr., and daughter Kara (Steve) Carroll.
He was a proud and loving grandfather to Logan Duncan, Courtney Caldwell, Christopher Cummings, Kaleb Watkins, Kate-Linh Eden, and Savannah Eden; and a great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren.
Jerry was a passionate fan of the Texas A&M Aggies, rarely missing a game and always cheering them on. He found joy and relaxation in fishing and golfing, hobbies that brought him peace and many happy memories with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and many other beloved family members and friends who welcomed him home with open arms
A memorial service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend, share memories, and reflect on the legacy of love, kindness, and strength he leaves behind.
