
The August sales tax allocations were released this week by the Texas Comptroller’s Office. The City of Early led the way with a large increase, the City of Brownwood had a nice increase, while the City of Bangs was essentially even with August of last year. The August sales tax allocation reflects taxable retail sales in June 2025. Details below.
BROWNWOOD
The City of Brownwood received $690,794, an increase of 4.76% over August 2024. Fiscal year-to-date (October 2024 through August 2025) the City of Brownwood has received $6,917,040, an increase of 5.70% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $217,944, an increase of 3.60% over August 2024. Fiscal year-to-date the Brownwood MDD has received $2,235,199, up 4.82% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
EARLY
The City of Early received $218,475, an increase of 28.41% over August 2024. Fiscal year-to-date the City of Early has received $2,130,066, down 2.47% compared to the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Early Municipal Development District received $71,203, an increase of 30.16% over August 2024. Fiscal year-to-date the Early MDD has received $697,860, down 1.91% from the previous fiscal year-to-date.
BANGS
The City of Bangs received $24,425, a decrease of 1.01% from August 2024. Fiscal year-to-date the City of Bangs has received $261,062, up 9.65% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
The Bangs Municipal Development District received $3,635, an increase of 13.66% over August 2024. Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $37,130, up 9.17% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
