Ricky Garces

Carlos “Ricky” Garces, age 63, of Dublin, Texas and formerly of Brady, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, in Ft. Worth, Texas. Ricky, as he was known by most, was born on August 31, 1961, in Brady, Texas, to Perfecto Garces and Olivia (Diaz) Garces. He grew up in Brady. Ricky was a welder by trade and was regarded as an exceptionally good welder. He served in the National Guard for several years. He lived and worked in San Angelo for several years before moving to Dublin and working for Liddell Manufacturing in Brownwood. He was a big Dallas Cowboys fan and loved to ride his motorcycle. He was also a member of the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church in San Angelo.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with Pastor Ronnie Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. Friends may view and/or sign Ricky’s online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com.

Ricky is survived by his daughter Victoria Green of Ft. Worth, Texas; brothers Lorenzo Garces and wife Lucy of California and Trinidad Garces and wife Alicia of Brady, Texas; sisters Nellie Garces of Brady, Texas, Nancy Lopez and husband George of Brady, Texas, Linda Reyes and husband Joe of Bronte, Texas, Gloria DeAnda of Dublin, Texas, Selza Garces of Dublin, Texas, Mickie Lopez and husband Manuel Mendoza of Dublin, Texas; Beatrice Williams and husband James of Stephenville, Texas; grandchildren Dezmond Johnson, Ervin, Tristan & Kobe Smith; several nieces and nephews including special niece Ann Garces of Cleburne, Texas and many friends. He was preceded in death by both sets of his grandparents, his parents, one sister, two nieces and one nephew. Memorial contributions in memory of Carlos “Ricky” Garces may be made to the Hope from the Heart, P. O. Box 1207, Brady, Texas 76825.
