Brenda Wilkinson, a cherished nurse, loving mother, and devoted grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in Bangs, Texas, surrounded by her family. Born on March 23, 1960, in San Antonio, Texas, Brenda was a free spirit whose life was filled with compassion and a steadfast dedication to caring for others.

Raised in Trickham, she embraced the values of hard work and service. After graduating from Santa Anna High School, Brenda pursued her passion for nursing at TSTC in Ranger, where she earned her nursing degree. Throughout her career, she took immense pride in the care she provided, working under the guidance of esteemed professionals such as Dr. Donald Pope and more recently, Peggy Hensley FNP-C in Santa Anna.

Brenda’s nurturing nature extended beyond her profession; she was a loving and exuberant person who treasured time spent with her family and friends. She held a deep love for her two sons, Colt Wilkinson and his significant other, Brooke Hall of Coleman, and John Wilkinson and his wife Abby of Ashland, Illinois. Brenda also adored her two grandchildren, Emma Wilkinson and Hannah Wilkinson, who brought immense joy to her life.

In addition to her family, Brenda found happiness in her hobbies. She enjoyed sewing and embroidering, creating beautiful works of art that reflected her creative spirit. Her love for gardening and photography showcased her appreciation for nature. Her church family also played an essential role in her life, providing a community of support and fellowship that she cherished deeply.

Brenda is also survived by her loving mother, Betty Doden of Santa Anna, her significant other, Glenn Schulthies, her aunt Pat Stacy of Llano, and her nephew, Lloyd Hall and his wife Melodie of Bangs. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her warm spirit.

Brenda is preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Joe Ted Hammonds and Aletta Mae Eddy Hammonds.

A memorial service celebrating her remarkable life will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Victory Life Church. 901 CC Woodson Road, in Brownwood. Services and cremation are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Wilkinson family by signing the guestbook on Brenda’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Wilkinson family.
