Elizabeth “Betty” Earlene Corrigan, age 87, of Early, previously of Texas City, passed from this life on Sunday, August 3, 2025 in Baytown, Texas.
Betty was born October 18, 1937 in Galveston, Texas to Earl & Louise Haughton. She graduated from LaMarque High School in 1955. She met the love of her life, William “Bill” Arthur Corrigan, Jr and the couple were married – sharing 67 years together before his passing in 2021.
Betty had a kind heart which made her a perfect fit as a Sunday school teacher at Grace United Methodist church and a softball coach for many years. Betty had a passion for sewing and also for art. Her artistic talents shone through in her paintings and drawings. Betty loved caring for her children, devoting her time & energy to them. Her love will be with us always, and she will be greatly missed.
Betty was proceeded in death by her parents Earl and Louise Haughton, her sister, Martha Louise Goodwin and her husband, William “Bill” Corrigan, Jr. Survivors include her children Debi Patrick and husband Dale, Robi Comer and husband Mike, Tammy Koonce and husband James “Bo” and Tim Corrigan and wife Karen; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren along with her sister, Jeannine Harris.
In honor of Betty’s life, a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Visitation will be held from 6-7PM on Wednesday, August 6, at Heartland Funeral Home.
