
The following information was provided by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office:
- On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Lt. Pete Bastardo conducted a welfare check on a male subject, later identified as WILLIAM RAY BAKER, at Highway 183 S. While speaking with BAKER it was discovered he was in possession of methamphetamines. BAKER was placed under arrest and transported to the Brown County Jail without further incident.
- On July 23, 2025, at approximately 11:44 hours, Deputy Dean Anderson initiated a traffic stop on TX-279 N, Brownwood, TX, 76801. This was on a white Chevrolet Silverado towing a recreational trailer for an inoperative right taillight on the recreational trailer. The white Chevrolet Silverado towing the recreational trailer matched the description received at approximately 10:30 from Coleman County Sheriff’s Office, which had stolen a propane tank and was headed towards Bangs on US-67 W. Vehicle was confirmed as stolen. Information was gathered and report submitted.
- On Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 08:30 hrs, Sgt Jayson Bastardo was dispatched to CR 381 regarding a stolen vehicle. Dispatch advised they had received a call from Coleman County Sheriff’s Office stating they had located a vehicle, which belonged to Brown County Precinct 3. Upon arrival, contact was made with Precinct 3 Foreman Douglas Jester. Jester confirmed the vehicle had been stolen. Information was gathered and a report made.
- On Thursday, July 24, 2025, Deputy Scotty Burke #139 was dispatched to Sheridan Rd, in reference to an abandoned, red tagged vehicle. The vehicle was red tagged on July 7, 2025, and yet to be removed by the registered owner. The vehicle was towed from the location and impounded at a local tow yard. A report was created.
- On Thursday, July 24, 2025, Deputy Scotty Burke #139 was dispatched to Oak Hill Road. This was in reference to the theft of a trailer report and investigation. Information was gathered and a report was created.
- On July 24, 2025, at approximately 09:27 hours, Deputy Dean Anderson was advised a call for service for an assault at County Road 321, Blanket, TX 76432. Contacted Courtney Rose Stanaland to gather information pertaining to the assault. Stanaland said she has been continually being assaulted by Colby Joshwa Spivey over the last five (5) months. They have been living together at 9303 County Road 321 address. Information was gathered and report submitted.
- On July 24, 2025, at approximately 13:05 hours, Deputy Dean Anderson was advised a call for a theft at Mesquite Dr, Early, TX 76802. Contact was made with Charles Coffey to gather information pertaining to the theft. Coffey said on July 18, 2025, he attempted to move Bitcoins from his CoinBase wallet to his CoinBase account so he could sell some. Coffey said when he did approximately $1,900.00 worth of Bitcoin disappeared from his wallet. Information was gathered, and the report submitted.
- On July 27, at approximately 19:43, Clayton S Ireland fled from law enforcement officers on a 2012 Harley Davison. Ireland fled from law enforcement for approximately one hundred and thirty miles, which started in Cisco, Texas, through Eastland County, Comanche County, and Brown County. Ireland was being pursued for traffic violations in Eastland County and active Brown County warrants. Ireland was stopped approximately .5 miles north of Farm to Market 2940 on Farm to Market 583 in Brown County and arrested for warrants and Evading arrest or Detention with Motor Vehicle and booked.
- On July 28, 2025, at approximately 13:28 PM, Deputy Dean Anderson was advised an individual wanted to have a Criminal Trespass Warning issued at E County Road 411, May, Texas 76857. I spoke with Joel Kelton to have him fill out the Authorization for Trespass Warning paperwork. Information was taken and report submitted.
- On 07/29/2025, at 0109 hours, Deputy Michel Wilson and Deputy Christopher Williamson were dispatched to Lindley Street for an assault in progress. After investigation, Leigha Wilson was arrested for Assault Family Violence. Information was obtained and a report has been made.
- On July 29, 2025, at approximately 09:55 AM, Deputy Dean Anderson was advised of a call concerning found property at Weakley-Watson Ace Hardware, 1414 Ausin Ave, Brownwood, TX 76801. I spoke with Calvin Wells, who said while driving to work at 08:00, he observed a rifle in road at the intersection of County Road 291 and Farm to Market 590 in Blanket, TX.
- On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 13:15 hours, Sgt Jayson Bastardo was dispatch to 2701 Abilene St, regarding an assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with Chastity Logan. Logan said she had been assaulted by her mother, TONYA BENSON. After further investigation, the parties were separated, and a report was completed.
