Bobby Glynn Williams, Sr., age 89, of Brady, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, in Brownwood. Bobby was born on March 27, 1936, in Mont Belvieu, Texas, to Coleman Edward Williams and Emma (Kidd) Williams. He grew up in Midland and on the coast. He entered the U.S. Army at age 17 and served 11 years. He married Cecil Pauline Kelley on March 30, 1962, in Midland. He attended Midland College where he earned his associate’s degree. After his honorable discharge from the US Army, he joined the Midland Police Department, where he worked for 32 years, retiring in 1991. He moved to Brady in 2000. He married Bobbie Brooks on January 20, 2001, in Midland. After retiring, Bobby took up playing golf. He really enjoyed playing golf with his friends and became very active in the Brady Golf Association, serving as President twice. He was also very active in the Boy Scouts of America. He devoted much of his time to the Boy Scouts and served as Council Commissioner. He was also a member and Past President of the Brady Lions Club. Bobby’s biggest goal was to enjoy life. He enjoyed making people laugh, spending time with his family and pulling practical jokes on his friends. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Brady.

A celebration of life service for Bobby Glynn Williams, Sr. will be at 2:00pm, Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Brady with Reverend Christian Garcia officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Friends may view Bobby’s Memorial Video Tribute and/or sign his online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife Bobbie Williams of Brady, TX; sons Bobby G. Williams, Jr. and wife Tiffany of Midland, TX, and Coleman Williams of Midland, TX; daughters Cynthia Lee Hanson and husband David of Hico, TX, Deborah Winkle and husband Dan of Ellensburg, WA, and Donna Wildman and husband Chuck of West Richland, WA; step-son Stephen Curry and wife Carrie of Houston, TX; step-daughter Tamitha Sierman and husband Dale W. of Midland, TX; brother Carroll Edward Williams and wife Quin of Sanger, TX; sister Mary Feemster of Stephenville, TX; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepdaughter Shelley Anderson Trout. Memorial contributions in memory of may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1103 West 17th Street, Brady, Texas 76825 and/or the Texas Lions Camp, 4100 San Antonio Hwy, Kerrville, Texas 78028 or www.lionscamp.com and/or Brady Golf Association, Brady, Texas 76825 or to the charity of choice.
