Scotty Ray Dyer

The Coleman Police Department issued the following press release Thursday morning:

The Coleman Police Department, the Coleman County Sheriff’s Office, and numerous other law enforcement agencies in West Central Texas are attempting to locate a suspect that has been implicated in numerous thefts that have occurred over the last
week in multiple counties in West Central Texas, including most recently the City of Coleman, Coleman County, and Brown County.

Law enforcement officials are attempting to locate Scotty Ray Dyer. Dyer is a wanted fugitive and is a suspect in multiple burglaries and thefts, in which vehicles, equipment, firearms, and services have been stolen. Dyer is described as a white male, approximately five feet six inches tall, weighs approximately 140 pounds, has a mix of brown and gray hair, a scar above his right eye, and has tattoos on both arms, right shoulder, and chest.

Dyer’s last known location was in Coleman County, just outside the city limits of Coleman in the early morning hours July 24, 2025.

Law enforcement officials need your help in locating Dyer and bringing him to justice. Dyer is considered armed and dangerous. If Dyer is located, call 9-1-1 immediately. Stay on the line with the 9-1-1 calltaker and provide updates on the physical description,
location, and direction of travel until law enforcement arrives. Citizens are encouraged to not approach or attempt to apprehend Dyer.

As an added level of prevention and protection, citizens are encouraged to remove the keys from all vehicles, remove all valuables, and lock the doors of vehicles, businesses, residences, and outbuildings at all times.
