
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office shared the following information:
On 07/21/2025, at approximately 1024 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Madeline Reigle was contacted by dispatch regarding a walk-in complaint to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office in reference to Fraud and Theft. Deputy Reigle spoke with the victim, who stated they were scammed into handing over $20,000 cash on the belief they were wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigations. A report was made for further investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.
On 07/21/25, at approximately 1051 hours, Deputy Ethan Fox was dispatched to handle a scam call regarding a purchase of a 4-wheeler. Deputy Fox made contact with Heath Barber, who stated KROCZYNSKI, JAMES sent him a check which may be fake. Information was gathered and a report was made.
On 07/21/2025, Deputy John Geis was dispatched to the intersection of County Road 152 and Highway 279 North, Brownwood, TX 76801 regarding a traffic hazard. Deputy Geis arrived on scene and observed a Gray Toyota Camry parked on County Road 152 in the roadway. Deputy Geis was unable to locate any contact information for the owner. The vehicle was towed, and a report was made.
On June 21, 2025, at 2226 hours, Deputy Thomas Beloat with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to U.S. Hwy.183 South for an animal complaint. During the investigation, two dogs went onto another property and attached another dog. Information was gathered, photographs were taken, and a report was completed.
