Alicia ‘Alice’ Almaguer

Alicia “Alice” Almaguer, 86, of San Saba, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Beacon Hospice of Austin in Cedar Park, Texas. A visitation for Alicia will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba. A funeral service for Alicia will be held 9:00 a.m., Friday, July 25, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in San Saba and will be officiated by Father Jojappa Polisetty. An interment will follow at Wallace Creek Cemetery. In memory of Alice, the family asks that you wear her favorite color, blue. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba.

Alicia was born January 16, 1939 in San Angelo, Texas, to Jose Talamantez and Luisa Frausto Talamantez. While residing in San Saba, Alice married Ruben Almaguer on December 9, 1961 in San Angelo, they spent 58 wonderful years together before his passing on April 9, 2019. Alicia was a full-time housewife. She loved traveling, family outings, being in her garden, family reunions, dressing up on Halloween with her daughter and grandson, she especially enjoyed the time she spent riding alongside her husband when he made trips for Oliver Pecan in the company truck. She was also a long time member or St. Mary’s Catholic Church in San Saba.

Alicia is preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Almaguer; her parents, Jose Talamantez and Luisa Frausto Talamantez; and four brothers, Jose Jr. Ernesto, Ramiro, and Mario Talamantez.

She is survived by her children, Norma and Ruben Joe Almaguer Jr.; grandchildren, Marcus, Ashton, and Ruben Ray; three sisters, Edelmira Martinez, Amelia De La Rosa, and Elida Zapata all of San Angelo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wallace Creek Cemetery Association in San Saba.
