Pedro R. Martinez, Sr., age 78, of Brady, Texas, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at his residence in Brady. Pedro was born on June 29, 1947, in Eden, Texas, to Alfonso Martinez and Isabel (Rodriguez) Martinez. He grew up in Brady and San Angelo. He attended accounting classes at Howard College in San Angelo. He also served in the US Army. He worked most of his life as a butcher at a meat packing plant in San Angelo. He enjoyed dancing, music, cowboy movies and spending time with his family. He was raised in the catholic church. He moved from San Angelo to Brady five years ago.

Funeral services for Pedro Martinez will be at 10:00am, Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with Father Terry Brenen officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. The family will receive friends Monday evening, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Pedro is survived by his son Pedro Martinez, Jr. of Dallas, Texas; daughters Monica Hernandez and husband Frankie of Austin, Texas and Cynthia Cedillo and husband Alonzo of San Angelo, Texas; brother Andy Garcia of Cleburne, Texas; sisters Josie Salazar of Winters, Texas, Maria Slater and husband Don of Brady, Texas and Berta Martinez of Brady, Texas; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Camilla Salazar and Eva Garza.
