The Howard Payne University athletic department today announced the hiring of Aaron Siekmann as head strength and conditioning coach.
Aaron Siekmann comes to Howard Payne after spending the past four years at Concordia University Wisconsin.
As the Director of Human Performance at Concordia Wisconsin, Aaron oversaw the strength and conditioning programs for all 32 athletic teams, managing staff, coordinating with sport coaches, and leading facility operations to ensure peak athlete development.
“Aaron Siekmann‘s background training student-athletes in multiple sports and experience as a director of strength and conditioning at two universities prior to HPU makes a great fit for Yellow Jacket athletics,” said HPU head football coach Coby Gipson.
Before Concordia Wisconsin, Siekmann served as the Director of Athletic Performance at Black Hills State University, where he worked from October 2015 until the summer of 2020.
Coach Gipson added, “When I first met Coach Siekmann, all I could think was this is a guy that puts the pedal down every day – buckle up because his training philosophy and methods match the exact culture, we want to build at HPU! Coach Siekmann and his wife Tara, and their kids are going to be an incredible addition to HPU and the Brownwood community!”
A Black Hills State University, he developed and implemented comprehensive training programs for 10 NCAA Division II teams, fostering a high-performance culture built on discipline, teamwork, and mental resilience. He also gained experience through a virtual football performance internship with Florida Atlantic University, contributing to individualized mobility and agility programming.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Siekmann earned a Master’s degree in Applied Exercise Science from Concordia University Chicago in 2019 and became a certified Sports Nutrition Specialist through the ISSA.
He and his wife, Tara, have two children, Taron and Landon.
