Brown County Sheriff’s Office Report: July 3

The following was provided by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office:

  • On 07/02/2025, at approximately 0913 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Madeline Reigle was contacted by dispatch regarding a phone call reporting Theft. Deputy Reigle spoke with the victim, who stated their cell phone was hacked and $800 had been drained from their Chime bank account. When the victim called Chime about the transaction, Chime was able to provide the name of the alleged suspect, who withdrew the money. The victim is disabled, and the money stolen was deposited from the Social Security Administration. When the victim was able to restart their phone, the name of the suspect appeared on the victim’s social media accounts. The victim was provided options. A report was made for further investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations
  • On 07/02/2025, at approximately 1330 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Madeline Reigle was notified by dispatch regarding a walk-in complaint at the Brown County Sheriff’s Office regarding Illegal Dumping. Deputy Reigle spoke with the complainant, who stated they received information from another party regarding several animal carcasses dumped around the 8000 Block of County Road 352,  Blanket, TX, on the county easement. Deputy Reigle then spoke with the actual witness, who stated 3 dogs, and a calf were dumped at that location. 3 dogs were dumped all at once, around the month of April, and the calf more recently in the same location. Brown County Patrol Sergeant Byron Langley and Patrol Deputy T.J. Harrell responded to the scene and took photographs. This report is for further investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
  • On July 2, 2025, at approximately 1528 hours, Deputy Alexandria Sanchez opened a follow up in refence to a Scam, which occurred at 5600 BLK FM 45. Deputy Sanchez spoke with the victim, who stated he has been receiving multiple calls, in reference to a scam regarding Richmonfarmsupplyinc.com. Information was taken and report was made.
  • On July 3, 2025, at approximately 0127 hours, Deputy Alexandria Sanchez and Deputy Thomas Beloat were dispatched to Dollar General, at 8015 N 279, in reference to an alarm. The bottom section of the front right sliding door had been broken. Information was taken and report was made.
