The Brown County Museum of History will open its 5th “Dino Day”, a fun and educational journey into prehistoric Texas. This year includes an expanded exhibit of over 100 rocks, minerals, and gemstones. Visitors of all ages can be hands-on with real fossils, arrowheads, geodes, mammoth bones, and fossilized sea creatures. Rangers from Dinosaur Valley State Park will be on site sharing their knowledge and expertise at a special dig table.

“This year there is even more to see and do,” says Museum Director Kyndall Howard. “We have added an entire geology exhibit, and more dig areas that highlight archeology and paleontology. This part of Texas has an enormous amount of fossils that are part of the natural history of our area. We invite families, science lovers, and curious minds of all ages to come discover these prehistoric artifacts. “

Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Museum, 209 N. Broadway in Brownwood. Come-and-go, with family-friendly admission of only $5 per person, and children under age 3 are free. Crafts to take home are included, and the Old Jail is open for tours at no additional charge.

For more information, call (325) 641-1926 or visit www.browncountymuseum.org.  Follow the Museum on social media for event updates and sneak peeks!
