
The following information was provided by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office:
- On 06/27/2025, at approximately 1037 hours, Brown County Deputy Sheriff Madeline Reigle was contacted regarding a Scam complaint by phone. Deputy Reigle spoke with the complainant, who stated that they had received a call from a person identifying themselves as working for Upstate Billing Service. They claimed the complainant owed $15,000. The scammer then stated if the complainant did not pay $500, the scammer would have the U.S. Marshalls go to their house and take possession of all their personal property. The complainant provided debit card information and $500 was drafted from their account. The complainant later learned this to be a scam, reported the incident to their banking institution, and made a complaint with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. This report will be for further investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division.
- On June 27, 2025, I, Deputy Saydie Bradley, received a call for a possible animal cruelty. I followed up at the address and located the animals. The animals all looked in good health and all had access to food, water and shelter. An information report was made.
- On June 27, 2025, at approximately 1456 hours, I, Deputy Alexandria Sanchez, was dispatched to N 279, in reference to violation of a protective order. I spoke with a female, who stated her husband, RUSSELL EUGENE III KELLEY (SUSPECT), has a protective order against him and violated it. Information was taken and report was made.
- On 06/27/2025, Deputy John Geis and Deputy Franky Valencia were dispatched to CR 165, Bangs, TX, 76823 regarding a Disorderly Conduct. Deputies arrived on scene and observed VOGEL, BILLY. Methamphetamine was located on VOGEL’S person, and VOGEL was taken into custody for Possession of Controlled Substance PG1 >=1g<4g HSC 481.115, transported to the Brown County Jail, and released to Jail Staff.
- On 06/28/2025, Deputy John Geis was patrolling Highway 279 North, when a black motorcycle with a black box container drove by at a high rate of speed. Deputy Geis got behind the motorcycle and initiated his emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop, when the motorcycle accelerated away. Deputy Geis pursued the motorcycle but did not locate it. A witness stated that the motorcycle was last seen turning onto County Road 456. Information was gathered and a report was made.
- On June 29, 2025, at approximately 1510 hours, Deputy Alexandria Sanchez was dispatched to CR 234 in reference to a hit and run. Deputy Sanchez spoke with Casey Wilson Carnes (Victim), who stated he got a text message from Bridget Bean ( UNK Witness), around 1430, stating there was a grey tundra stuck in the fence getting pulled out by a white dodge. Information was taken and report was made.
