The Early High School Varsity Cheerleaders recently attended the NCA Cheer Camp at Tarleton, and they brought energy, talent, and school spirit all week long.

Each day, the coveted Spirit Stick was awarded to the most spirited team — and Early earned it not once, but twice and even took it home at the end of camp.

The team earned the following awards:

•    Superior Ribbon for Band Chant

•    Superior Ribbon for Situational Chant

•    Herkie Award (the highest honor) for both Band Chant and Situational Chant

•    Superior Ribbon for Cheer

•    Trophy for NCA Best Band Chant

Early’s mascot also stood out:

•    Received the Spirit Stick

•    Awarded Best Morals

•    Nominated for All-American Mascot

Several individuals were also recognized for their excellence:

•    Seniors Addy Benson, Cassidy Frerichs, Aunna Martinez, and Adamari Ortega received invitations to try out as future NCA Instructors

•    Kambry Boyd was named All-American

•    Cassidy Frerichs and Kenlee Prince received a special award for cheer role model. Kenlee Prince was pinned America Needs Cheerleaders

All American nominees included Kenlee Prince, Pearl Sharp, Aunna Martinez, Jordan Rutherford, Kynli Skaggs, Adamari Ortega, Addy Benson, Cassidy Frerichs, Emily Howard, Maddyson Walker, Henslee Middleton, Kambry Boyd, Kate Goins, and Avery Stifflemire.
