The Brownwood/Brown County Health Department is proud to announce the launch of a fully equipped Mass Care Trailer designed to significantly bolster local emergency response capabilities. Built to support disaster response and rapid sheltering operations, this trailer is a critical new asset in protecting and serving the community when emergencies strike.

The Mass Care Trailer has been assembled with essential resources for shelter operations, including cots, blankets, medical supplies, and other emergency support equipment. It ensures fast deployment and rapid set-up of temporary shelters during disasters such as wildfires, floods, or mass evacuation events.

“This trailer represents a vital investment in our community’s resilience,” said Cliff Karnes, Public Health Emergency Preparedness Manager. “In moments when every second counts, we now have the means to expedite functional sheltering environments for those in need.”

This initiative was made possible through the Public Health Emergency Preparedness program and the Medical Reserve Corps program.

The Mass Care Trailer will be stationed at the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department and can be rapidly deployed to affected areas across the county. Its addition reflects Brownwood/Brown County Health Department’s ongoing commitment to readiness, safety, and community support.

For more information, or to request a demonstration of the trailer’s capabilities, please contact the Public Health Emergency Preparedness office, 325-643-3793 or phpstaff@brownwoodtexas.gov.
