A public meeting regarding Oncor’s proposed new 765 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from Oncor’s proposed Dinosaur Switch, near Glen Rose to Oncor’s existing Longshore Switch near Forsan in Howard County, will be held at Dudley Brothers in Comanche, located at 9450 Highway 67, at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The line is expected to be 235-270 miles depending on which route is used. Multiple routes are proposed including two that could impact northern Brown County.
An application for the transmission line proposal will be sent to the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) by the end of December 2025 where the commission will vote to approve or deny the project and route. If approved, Oncor will then begin to acquire land right-of-way easements with construction planned to begin sometime in 2027.
According to Oncor, these preliminary alternative route links are subject to modification based on information received at the public participation meetings and further studies.
