George Robert Burton

George Robert Burton, 73, passed away peacefully at home on June 17, 2025.

George was born on July 10, 1951 in Comanche, TX to Bob and Verle Burton. He graduated from Comanche High School

George married the love of his life, Jeannie McKinney Burton, on June 6, 1987 in Comanche, TX. He owned and operated Burton’s Processing, Burton’s Meats, a mining company, Texas Sodium Bentonite, Inc., and ranched his entire life. He loved spending time with family on the ranch, tending to his garden and traveling. George was a man that loved life and never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Verle Burton.

George is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jeannie McKinney Burton; his children, Angela Gibbons and her husband Jerre, Brandon Strew and his wife Gabrielle, Chadd Strew and his wife Ashley; grandchildren, Caleb Gibbons, Callan Gibbons, Ella Gibbons, Sarah Rivas, Adam Strew, Rachel Harper, Leilani Mason, Roman Mason, Brody Strew, Chase Strew, and Cole Strew; 2 great-grandchildren, Lakelyn and Lovelyn Strew; sisters, Kay Burton and Betty Rackley and her husband James; nieces, nephews and many more family and friends.

A Celebration of George’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Heartland Funeral Home Comanche, 1508 North Austin St. Comanche, TX 76442.
