Debra Ann Karnes, age 63, of Brady, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025, at her residence in Brady. Debra was born on July 10, 1961, in Brady, Texas, to Milford Cook and Mattie (Lawrence) Cook. She grew up in Brady and attended Brady schools. She married George Michael “Mack” Karnes, Sr. on February 22, 1981, in Goldthwait, Texas. She enjoyed fishing and she especially enjoyed going to the coast where she fished from the beach. She loved spending time with her family and celebrating the holidays. She was a member of the Resurrection Power Church in Brady and had lived most of her life in Brady.

Graveside services for Debra Ann Karnes will be at 10:00am, Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady with Pastor Gilbert Talamantes officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Friends may view Debra’s Memorial Video Tribute and/or sign her online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com. The Pallbearers will be Daniel Gainer, Bubba Gainer, Kolby Yonker, Korey Kunc, Ronald Stewart, Ryan Cook, Tony Cook, Ben Cook, Jason Cook, Johnny Cook, Jerry Allin, and Garrett McCoy.

Debra is survived by her loving children, son George Karnes, Jr. and his wife Kelly of Pipe Creek, Texas and daughters Belinda Gainer and husband Daniel of Fredonia, Texas and Mika Karnes of Texas; brother Johnny L. Cook and wife Rosia of Brady, Texas; sisters Judy Howell and husband James of Brady, Texas and Theresa Allin and husband Jerry of Brady, Texas; grandchildren Whitney Yonker and husband Kolby, Bubba Gainer and wife Ciera, Jason Harless, Brooklynn Carlile, Kenley Karnes, Whitten Carlile, Kain Karnes and Lena Karnes; great-grandson Riggin Yonker; bonus children Jennifer Airheart, Ronald Stewart, Shana Petkus, Kelsey Roberts, and Garrett McCoy; several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, of 38 years, George Michael “Mack” Karnes, and brothers Jerry Don Cook and Eugene Cook. Memorial contributions in memory of Debra Ann Karnes may be made to Hope from the Heart, P. O. Box 1207, Brady, Texas 76825.
