Sometime last weekend I received a list of three new coaches that are going to be at Brownwood High School right away. I could tell you about all three of them, but if I did the same thing with all three of those coaches, this would run a lot longer than it should.
One of them though is special to me. His name is Graylon Brown.
I don’t see living a long time and I didn’t watch that 2010 team and think about a bunch of them coming back to help coach this squad, but I did think about one or two players, one or two – maybe three – and we got one of them. Graylon Brown is coming back to Brownwood and I’m excited! I don’t know if anyone else is or not.
Graylon is the youngster who quarterbacked that 2010 team. He quarterbacked them to something like 4600 or 4700 yards of offense. He completed 47 touchdown passes and that smashed records here and there. A lot of people said they ran up the score on people. Yeah, they ran up the score with him sitting on the bench most of the time. I told some people that had we won State, I think he would have thrown more. Anyway, that’s neither here nor there.
Graylon is a terrific young man. He’s just been stupendous at Brownwood. I think without looking up everything, he was All State and just on and on. He was a great runner and just a terrific, terrific football player. If he can teach – I think they’ve got him working with wide receivers – and those wide receivers will be better with him there. He’s also going to be on the basketball squad as an assistant and he’ll be with the baseball team as an assistant. Anyway, he’s done a lot for Brownwood and he will do for Brownwood what he’s done in the past.
I’m excited for Graylon and I’m excited for the kids at Brownwood. This will be a better football team when he walks out on the field. Trust me!
Put your trust in him and he will get us there – with help from about fifteen other coaches and a great group of players.
Until next time, so long everybody
