Brownwood High School graduate Matt McCrane and the D.C. Defenders have advanced to the UFL championship game to face the Michigan Panthers, which will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday on ABC, live from St. Louis.

For the season, McCrane has booted 14 of 20 field goals with a long of 53 yards, while recording eight touchbacks on kickoffs.

The Defenders posted a 6-4 regular season to reach the playoffs, where they avenged a 13-8 home loss in the regular season finale to the St. Louis Battlehawks with a 36-18 playoff victory this past weekend, also in St. Louis.

The Defenders also faced the Michigan Panthers in Week 6 of the regular season and dropped a 38-14 outing.
