In Tuesday’s meeting of the Board of Directors, Brown County Water Improvement District #1, several items on the agenda were discussed and approved:
*** Approval was given to a permit for a fireworks show for Independence Day. This year’s fireworks show will take place on Saturday, July 5, near the dam. More details on the show will be released at a later date.
*** Approval was given to the District’s Criminal Trespass Warning Procedures and Appeal Process.
*** Approval was given to new Lake Patrol procedures to comply with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) regulations on personnel files, misconduct allegations, and hiring procedures.
District General Manager John Allen reported that Lake Brownwood is currently 0.2-feet above spillway level, and may rise some more from recent rains. One year ago Lake Brownwood was at 76.4% of capacity. The statewide average for lakes in Texas is currently 77.8% of capacity.
