Ron Brodbeck

Ronald Brodbeck, age 88, of Brady, Texas, passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in Brady. Ron was born on May 25, 1937, in St. Louis, Missouri to Frederick Wilhelm Brodbeck and Alvera (Kock) Brodbeck. He grew up in St. Louis and graduated from Principia High School in St. Louis. He served in the US Marine Corp and attended Washington University in St. Louis. He married Barbara Brook on December 24, 1959, in Llano, Texas. They lived in St. Louis, where Ron owned and operated Brodbeck Tool & Machine Company, a tool and die maker, until 1987, when he moved the company to Brady. He continued to operate the business until his death. He had a passion for trains. He had a very impressive collection of model trains and train memorabilia. He was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Brady for many years

A Celebration of Life service for Ronald Brodbeck Saturday, June 14, 2025, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Brady with Reverend Curt Norman officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in St. Paul’s Education Building. Friends may view and/or sign Ron Brodbeck’s online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com.

Ron is survived by his loving daughter Bonnie McAnelly and husband Stan of Brady, granddaughters, Anna Madden and husband Blake and Katie McAnelly, several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara, brother Fred Brodbeck and sister Ruth Bakunas.
