Bangs High School recognizes students who qualified for state competition

On Monday at Dragon Memorial Stadium, Bangs High School recognized its student-athletes that advanced to the state level of competition.

The following are the students and the events in which they qualified:

Solo and Ensemble: Landen Bessette, Rebekka Cole, Saryna Early, Anabella Loyd and Michaella Patterson

Boys Powerlifting: Noah Castillo (Silver Medalist in 198-pound weight class) and Deavon Greaves (165-pound weight class)

HOSA: Kaylee Jarolim, Jaylee Valdez, Serena Baker ($1,200 Scholarship Winner)

Cross Examination Debate: Conner Freeland (Farm and Agriculture Management), Sam Perez, Samuel Harvey, Eliseo Rivas

Ag Mechanics: Connor Bible (5th place team, Applied Ag Engineering), Kian Kelly (5th place team, Tractor Technician 7th place team), DJ Lyon (5th place team, Tractor Technician 7th place team), Leonel Vasquez (5th place team, 8th place individual Applied Ag Engineering), Owen Johnson (Applied Ag Engineering)

More Ag Mechanics: Peyton Lorah (Applied Ag Engineering)

More Ag Mechanics: Levi DeLisle (Farm and Agriculture Management 8th place team, Tractor Technician 7th place team), Nathaniel Willis (Farm and Agriculture Management 8th place team)

FCCLA: Rebekkah Elliott (Cupcake Presentation, FCCLA State Qualifier, $4,000 in Scholarships)

UIL: Ailish Kelly (Visual Arts Scholastic Event)

Sports: Cameryn Harmon (4×100 relay state team – new school record time; 4×200 relay state team – new school record time), Abby Wolf ( 4×100 relay state team – new school record time; 4×200 relay state team – new school record time, Valerie Razo (7th place in state powerlifting, 97-pound weight class; 4×100 relay state team – new school record time; 4×200 relay state team – new school record time), Kasey Solis (State Silver Medalist in triple jump; State Bronze Medalist in long jump; 4×100 relay state team – new school record time; 4×200 relay state team – new school record, 7th place in state powerlifting, 132-pound weight class)
