The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of May 14:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 76 degrees; 0.48 feet above pool. Black bass to 5.25 pounds are slow in 3-15 feet of water on Hag’s Tornados, topwaters and spinnerbaits. Some bass are post spawn and a few are into an early summer pattern. Crappie are slow to 10 inches on jigs in 9-15 feet of water. White bass are excellent to 2 pounds on crankbaits in the lights at night. Catfish are slow on prepared bait, nightcrawlers and chicken livers.

LAKE CISCO

GOOD. Water stained; 65 degrees; 13.04 feet below pool. Perch, channel catfish and bass are good in 8-30 feet of water with minnows and shrimp. Triple digit weather is in the forecast so expect the water to warm up and the bite to improve. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.

LAKE COLEMAN

FAIR. Water stained; 72 degrees; 0.11 feet above pool. Black bass to 3 pounds are excellent in 1-10 feet of water throughout the lake in the grass and bushes with a white and chartreuse spinnerbait. A few fish are on the docks with a dropshot or Neko rig, Hag’s Tornados in Morning Dawn, Tsunami Jigs and spinnerbaits. Most bass in the 1.5-3 pound range are guarding fry. Crappie are slow to 10 inches on jigs in 8-15 feet in the stumps and under docks. Hybrid bass are Excellent to 10 pounds on squarebill crankbaits on lighted docks and chasing the shad spawn on the dam early and late. Catfish are slow on prepared bait, nightcrawlers and chicken livers.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

FAIR. Water slightly stained; 71 degrees; 22.85 feet below pool. Bass are good with catches up to 11 pounds. Fish are winding up on the spawn, but a few can be caught off beds in 8-18 feet. Shad are still spawning in a few areas. Topwaters are doing well on points and in the back of pockets in 2-4 feet of water. Wind is your friend and seems to help these fish. White bass are fair with fish schooling around the Lee day area. Most are being caught on windy points next to deep water. Very few reports of crappie. Catfish up to 12 pounds are good up both rivers on cheese baits and stink baits in 5-8 feet of water. Report by Wendell Ramsey, Ramsey Fishing.

LAKE PROCTOR

FAIR. Water stained; 70 degrees; 0.93 feet below pool. Reports of white bass caught trolling in shallow water. Crappie are transitioning to brush piles.
