Janet (Jan) Petty Bingham

Janet (Jan) Petty Bingham, 75 of Blanket, Texas passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 8, 2025. The family will host a Celebration of Life and Inurnment at Zephyr Cemetery on Thursday, May 15th at 10:00 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home in Early.

Jan was born in Cisco, Texas to John and Gertrude Petty on September 28, 1949. She married Jerry Bingham on May 29, 1971 in Cisco, Texas. Together they had 2 girls Shary and Stacy.

Jan was a Wrangler Belle at the Cisco Junior College where she met her “Sorta” sister Jeanne Hester. She went on to attend Angelo State University. She worked for many years at the Blanket School as the Librarian and Teacher’s Aide. She then went on to working at the Department of Human Services where she retired. Jan was a member of the Blanket Methodist Church. She loved her husband and her favorite thing to do was to go watch him rope. Many hours were spent cheering on her Cowboy.

Jan is survived by her husband Jerry Bingham of Blanket; daughters, Shary Bingham of Blanket and Stacy Bingham of New Braunfels; sister Sharon Toland and husband Jerry of Breckenridge; grandchildren, Amanda Estrada, Isabella Estrada both of Amarillo; her sister-in-laws, Beth Petty, and Wadena Cogburn and husband Kenny and many nieces and nephews that she loved so much.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother, Roy (Butch) Petty.
