Richard Colley Bowman, age 72, passed away, Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Dallas VA Medical Center after having suffered a debilitating spinal injury in March of 2024.
Richard was born in Kentucky on June 8, 1952, and through life’s adventures came to live in Coleman from 1979 until 1998 when he and his family moved to Santa Anna, where he resided until his death.
He was proceeded in death by his brothers Jim Samons, Michael Bowman, and Marshall Bowman.
He is survived by his brothers, Rusty Bowman and Harry Bowman of Indiana. He is also survived by his wife of 50 years, Cathy Bowman; his oldest daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Brian Calfa and their children Angelica, Anthony, Zachary, Aiden, and Emilia Calfa; his middle daughter Pamela Bowman and his youngest daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Moses Lira and their two children Audrey and Evan Lira.
Richard was a veteran of the Vietnam War and worked at Kohler in Brownwood for 30 years where he retired. Richard loved and was loved greatly by his family. He was a strong provider, care giver, Christian, and mischief maker while raising his daughters and then helping with his grandchildren who were his whole world. We (his family) are heartbroken at his loss but grateful for the time he was with us and glad he has found his way home in Heaven.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Richard’s life, which will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at First Baptist Church, 200 East College Avenue in Coleman.
We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Bowman family by signing the guestbook on Richard’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Bowman family.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever”, Psalm 73:26
