Betty Lou Wallis May, 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, May 8th, 2025. She was born November 10th, 1931, in San Antonio to Lanham and Lois Wallis. Betty Lou grew up in Llano and was involved in many school activities and clubs. Betty Lou was very outgoing and popular and achieved many school academic honors at Llano High School. Betty attended Southwest Texas University in San Marcos, where she made numerous lifelong friends. Betty was elected Galardian her Junior year at Southwest Texas State University- an honor reserved just for Seniors.
Betty Lou was a real beauty and caught the eye of the love of her life, Wayne May, at an auction sale in Mason. Wayne used to love to tell the story of how they first met. He was auctioneering when Betty walked in and took his breath away. He stopped right then and took a break to introduce himself. Love at first sight for both of them.
Betty and Wayne married in 1951 and made their home in Llano and then eventually moved to Brownwood in 1965.
Betty and Wayne were blessed with four children. Betty was raised in the Baptist church and instilled a love for the Lord in her four children at an early age.
