Doris Donahoo, 82, of Goldthwaite, Texas peacefully passed away at home the morning of May 3, 2025. She sat down for a nap prior to a day filled with activity. She did not wake up.

Doris was born Doris Faye Ingram in Bessemer, Alabama on October 27, 1942. She attended Alabama College majoring in education. There she met Michael (Mickey) Donahoo, whom she would later marry. Upon graduation, they were married and moved to Atlanta, Georgia while Mickey finished his engineering degree at Georgia Tech. Upon graduation, Mickey was offered jobs with NASA in Alabama, Florida, and Texas. Doris picked Texas in spite of Mickey’s concern about continued employment.

Doris taught Spanish and Texas History in the Clear Creek school system for the next thirty-one years where she was selected Outstanding Teacher of the Year.

Shortly after Mickey’s retirement from NASA, they moved to the Goldthwaite area in 2005. She became the Flannelgraph Story Teller at several of the area churches. She and Mickey hunted extensively around the world with many a fine story to tell. She will be greatly missed in Sunday School classes and VBSes.

Doris is survived by her husband, Mickey; son Jeff Donahoo and daughter Stephanie D’Albergo; grandson Cameron D’Albergo; granddaughters Michaela Emma, Mackenzie Donahoo, and Ashlyn D’Albergo; brother Lynn Ingram and sister, Gloria Lee. Doris has left behind quite a legacy in education and Story Telling.

Service will be held on May 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church, Lometa, Texas 207 W. Main Street, Lometa, Texas 76853. In lieu of flowers, it would make Doris smile to donate to MD Anderson.
