A graveside service for Brian Wellsandt, age 53, of Abilene, formerly of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 3, 2025, in the Cherokee Cemetery in Cherokee.

Brian passed from this life on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in Abilene.

Brian Warren Walker Wellsandt was born in Brownwood, on April 15, 1972, to Nadene (Walker) and Gary Wellsandt.  He attended Brownwood High School and Texas State Technical College in Brownwood, where he earned his welding certificate.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Brian is survived by his daughter Ashley and two grandchildren; his parents, Nadene and Gary Wellsandt; his sister, Sherry Shannon; nieces and nephews, Sean Shannon, Patrick Shannon, Kelcy and husband Mitchell Tharp, their children Rush and Rylan, Casey Shannon and wife Katelann and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, an aunt, Mary Randolph, and a cousin, Jerry Randolph.

For those attending the service, Brian’s wish would be for everyone to wear t-shirts and jeans.

In lieu of flowers, the Wellsandt family requests memorials be made to Jerry’s Christmas Boxes, c/o Cherokee Baptist Church, PO Box 117, Cherokee, 76832.

Condolences, memories, and tributes can be offered to the Wellsandt family online at heartlandfuneralhome.com.
